In light of the accelerating climatic changes that Iraq and the world are facing, And the increasing problem of pollution in the province of Basra, green house project, Supported by the Tamkeen Fund for Community Initiatives. An afforestation campaign targeting more than 200 schools in two phases. The first phase included more than 60 schools. While the campaign was expanded in the second phase to include more than 150 schools. In cooperation with the Basra Governorate Office.
This campaign aims to increase the vegetation cover and improve the environment in Basra Governorate. which is witnessing a significant increase in pollution levels. More than 2,000 seedlings were planted in the first phase of the campaign. A specialized technical team has been provided to monitor the growth and care of trees.
This campaign is part of efforts to promote environmental awareness and combat desertification and air pollution in Iraq. Benefiting from generous funding from the "Tamkeen" Fund and in cooperation with the Basra Governorate Office, The Green House Project seeks to create a greener and healthier environment for students and the local community in the province.
By expanding afforestation campaigns and promoting environmental awareness in schools, The Green House Project seeks to encourage environmental actions and contribute to combating desertification and reducing pollution in Basra and Iraq in general.
